Moving DFS Root |
|
|
I am trying to find information on how to move the DFS Root from one server
to another, and then decommission the original server.
Currently we have DFS sitting on our DC replicating to DC2. We want to move
it to our NAS and replicate it to NAS2.
So far, I have created a DFS Root Replica on NAS1 and NAS2 and have them
replicating properly. How do I go about moving the DFS Root share from DC1
to NAS1 seamlessly?
Any help would be GREATLY apprecaited!
Thanks

Andrew,
Add a root target for NAS2. Wait for it to replicate. Then, right click the
root/links and goto configure replication and remove NAS1. Wait for it to
replicate, and you should be able to pull NAS1 out of the mix.

What if we want to move the DFS root to a different logical drive on the
same server?
