Hi,
I tried to find a way to see who is accessing our protal site and what type
of activity users doing on our portal site and I could not find any
information. The portal is secure an di snot open to public, however we need
to trace the activity on it.
Is there a way to find out who is ( user name) accessing our portal site,
waht is the IP address (is it internal IP or extrnal), date and time?

you can use the IIS logs on the web front end server ( or the sharepoint
server if all on one box ) to get some info , you will need to get them out
of the IIS server first and to either SQL or another box before you query
them due to the load you would apply on the server by querying them on a
live box , I suggest a free tool logparser for this. various free and pay
tools are available for getting reports out of IIS logs.
You can also buy 3rd party tools for more advanced queries such as these
