I have Virtual Server 2005 installed on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP1.

This host server is also my file server. I have just begin setting up a few
guest operating systems for testing and have encountered a problem. When I
try to map a drive on the guest o/s that points back to the host o/s it will
map but if i explore the mapped drive after about 30 seconds the whole box
loses connectivity, basically like if I had unplugged the cable from the NIC.
The only resolution is to reboot the machine.

Am I doing this wrong? Any suggestions?

BTW all guest o/s are mapped to the external NIC and pull thier own IPs form
the DHCP server.

i had a similar problem with my fileserver running virtual server
i acces my fileserver only via RDP
When i wanted to access shared folder on DFS (RAIDsomenumber) from a
guest (running on virtual server) my RDP connection lost connection, but
after a minute or to it came back and i see inside of the folder i'm
tried to access, when i doubleclicked to open a subfolder i needded to
wait again, it was painfull. But i always been able to access shared
folder on GuestOS from my fileserver, and it was no connection loss.

My fileserver has two network card adapter. So i configured my virtual
server to run guest OSes using second (unused) network card adapter and
it is fine now.

Now i have only one problem: i canto moveall those big VHDs to RAID
disk. Virtual Server always freezes when i try to configure it using VHD
from DFS, and i need to reser fileserver. :(
