Sharepoint Portal Search: Change the intranet hostname to fu |
|
|
Dear all experts,
I have a question on the SharePoint Portal search.
Our SP portal was accessible via an internal hostname and the search
function is working properly.
However, due to some reason, we have to move the server to DMZ zone such
that people outside the intranet can access the portal.
(i.e. the home URL changes from intranet hostname to Fully quantified domain
name)
Due to this changes, the search is not longer works and only index the
documents (with the intranet hostname)
What kind of stuff I should check for the search ? Do I need to rename the
virtual server?
Millions thank for any idea.
Best regards,
Cynthia |

You need to change the default url from your intranet hostname to your FQDN.
You do this by going to SPS central admin and clicking "Configure alternate
portal url" then you select your virtual server and click edit. Now just
make the appropriate updates. Should take care of things for you. You may
need to do a full index update after making the changes.
