Renamed administrator in domain policy but ADUC still show t |

Using Domain Security Policy renamed administrator toNewAdmin. Logged on to a
client, it administrator was changed to NewAdmin as expected. However, logged
on to the DC, from ADUC, still saw Administrator there although I had to use
the renamed NewAdmin to log on to the DC.
What happened here, please help.

When you say "still saw Administrator there", do you mean that when you went
to logon via the console or RDP that the user name was pre-populated with
Administratror? If so, this is due to the fact that the last user name to
logon via that method is remembered. |

Yes, my logon screen did show the last logon id. That is not a problem as
it's a known default and I can change that in the domain security policy.
On the logon screen, I changed the logon id from "Administrator" to
"NewAdmin" and logon to the domain with no trouble. Clicked on the Start
button, saw the current user "NewAdmin".
However, when Iopened ADUC on the DC, I couldn't find the "NewAdmin"
anywhere but still saw the "Administrator". Is this normal?

Sounds as though you changed the samaccountname and/or UPN and did not rename
the Administrator account.
AD U&C shows the display name of the users, therefore, this would still show
Administrator if the above is true. |
