On a 2003 native domain controller running WINS, DNS, DHCP I get the above
error message when trying to map a drive to a non-domain controller. I can
use UNC path to map to other DC's but not other servers. We have 6 DC's and
none of the others exhibit this problem.

I have considerd the smb policies and they appear the same on all DC's and
are consistent with MS recommendations.

Any guess before we open an incident?

Is this all users or just some? Have you defined the logon restrictions in
the user's properties?

When this fails, run net use and see what connections are open. If you
delete any relating to this server, can you then map a drive?

There are no other drives mapped. The user is any of the administrators.
There are no restrictions for the users. We can map drives and do all
functions from other DC's. We can map drives to this DC but not from it.
