Ok Gurus here it goes......

All server windows 2003 standard SP1 Sql 2k sp3a.

Server (A) 1 DC and Server (B) 1 member server with SQL 2k SP3a

The MOM is installed on server (B) using AD service accounts, I could not
push an agent to server (A) error was

_____________________________________________________________________________
" The MOM Server failed to perform specified operation on computer
"defualt.AREA51.ORG".

Error Code: -2147024891
Error Description: Access is denied. "
______________________________________________________________________________

I have since then given all the service accounts domain admin access and I
still get the error. I have manually installed the agent and unchecked the
do not manage manually installed agents, with no luck. I also tried to set
the MOM serverice to tun under the domain admin account and the service will
not start.

In the operation console I can see where mom wants to monitor the
performance monitors for the sql server and is getting denied by the NT
AUTHORITY/NETWORKSERVICE account? Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong? I
only have so much hair left to pull out...

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Is the Management Server Action Account being used to push the agent
installation? If so, is the account a member of the builtin Administrators
group in the domain (since the server is a DC)? The account used to install
must have local Administrator rights on the agent.

David Tyra

I tried adding the account to built in administrator and then tried pushing
the agent with no luck, same error. I also made sure they were domain
admins.

Thanks,

John
