Go into "Modify Settings & Columns". In the list of columns select the one
you want to delete. When the Change Column page renders you should see a
delete button to the left of the OK & Cancel buttons. There is one caveat to
this: Every list created by sharepoint has by default one column called
"Title" which is a single line of text. This column cannot be deleted and the
data type cannot be changed. This is most irritating and will hopefully be
remedied in the next realease of sharepoint!
