HI
I have recently installed SPS 2003 and configured a bunch of sites and all
working fine.
I decided I needed to publish via ISA 2004 so started going through the
document
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4C5BF9DD-3EFB-451D-B213-98ED039190BF&displaylang=en

One of the first things outlined to do is to install an SSL Cert on the
Default web site which I have done, but when attempting to access it I get
the "Page cannot be displayed"

I can still access via http fine.
So http://servername is fine but https://servername is no good

I would recommend that you first create a second portal and Extend and map
it to your existing portal. That way you will have a new web site in IIS
that you can apply your SSL certificate to. Then on your new SSL web site in
IIS turn of Integrated authentication and enable Basic challenge response
and under certificate security make sure it is set to only SSL.
Continue to follow the Microsoft guide for the rest of the setup with ISA
2004.
