MOM Rules |
|
|
Is there an easy, supported way of moving Rules between the rule groups?
For example in Active Directory Management Pack there is one rule group
called something similar to "windows 2000 and 2003 something something..."
Under that is an AD Availability rule group.
Under the Windows 2003 rule groups there is also a AD Availability rule
group. The difference is the one under Windows 2003 doesn't have an rules
defined. The one under Windows 2000 and 2003 does have about 45.
So since we don't have any Windows 2000 we want to delete that whole rule
group header and move the availability rules down under the Windows 2003
rule group.
However I don't see any way of doing this.
Thanks,
Terry |

Hello,
Thank you for your posting!
You can disable the rule group if you don't need it.
If you have any questions, please feel to let me know. I am glad to be of
assistance.

Thanks that wasn't exactly what I was asking though.
I know I can disable it. But basically what I want to do is move it from
where it is currently displayed to a different place for organization. And
I didn't want to manually recreate all the rules that were already defined.

Dear Terry,
Thank you for posting.
Unfortunately I am sorry to say the answer is No.
Currently we do not have any tools to move the rules from the one place to
another place in the rules groups.
You may need to use queries to change the SQL tables directly to meet your
requirement.
If you would like to get more detailed plans or solutions on the SQL
developing, we recommend that you contact Microsoft Advisory service or
Microsoft Product Support Service for a solution. Microsoft now offers
short-term and proactive assistance for specific planning, design,
development or assistance with installing, deploying, and general "how to"
advice via telephone. For more information:
