Need to have the ability to have anonymous list form |

I have an issues list on our sharepoint site which we use as a help desk
system. This has been a great system for us. This is on our main sharepoint
site with Microsoft Authenticaiton in place. I would like to add the
functionality to have customers enter data into a list form, without having
access to the root site. More specifically i had envisioned having a subsite
(with anonymous permissions turned on) which would populate the data into the
main list. Or just a seperate page with anonymous permissions which would
populate back to the list.
I have run into several roadblocks on this, and would appreciate any
assistance you can give me.
