Is there any HTMLPlaceholder toolbar? |
|
|
I cannot believe that MCMS doesn't have a toolbar to edit the text inside the
placeholder. Maybe I am missing something but my htmlplaceholders have a
toolbar with no buttons (just images that indicate if I can add certain HTML
tags or not).
I would like to offer to the authors a toolbar where they could select only
some styles, so the hole site looks similar. But how I can manage text inside
the placeholder? I mean, I need a sort of notepad, or sthg similar.
Almost all the opensource cms have this kind of functionality, Why I cannot
find it in MCMS???!!! |

First, a toolbar should be appearing at the top of the browser window in a
default install. This toolbar provides things like bold, italic, underline,
font colors, sizes, images, links, etc. All the default installs have it...
are you seeing any JS errors at the bottom of your page? Have you enabled
the rich authoring properties within the HtmlPlaceholder or lock it down to
just text? This may be one thing that's keeping you from working with the
toolbar.
Second, have you seen the free telerik radEditor control you can use for
authoring within HTML placeholders? I assume it will give you some of the
additional functionality you're looking for.

Hi Karina,
Microsoft recommends that customers should use the Telerik Placeholder
control.
This control is much more powerful.
The light edition of this control is free of charge for all MCMS users as
Microsoft is paying the licensing fees.

Cheers,
Stefan
