For some reason, when I am in SP, it thinks I am another user!!! We’ve been
noticing my name appears whenever I am in a document, this morning I checked
it out and it showed the other user. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Try clearing your Internet cookies and files. Then reopen portal in new
browser window.
