I setup clustered failover with shared disk on 2 nodes in WIN2003 ent.
edition. Customer wanted no down time on a 3rd party data base that uses ISS
and Apache. I wanted to setup IIS with failover (failover was used because it
comes with a high dollar USB license key which I planned to manually switch
over on failover). But from what I've been reading I can't setup IIS in
failover mode, or there is no documentation to do this. Should I be changing
to NLB? What is recommend for 3rd party apps to be loaded on C: of both
servers or loaded on the shared drive? And what determines if it is a
generic service or a generic application? I kind of new to this.

NLB is the way to go. But if you want to use clustering read this checklist
