How often can I check for rule changes |
|
|
In the Management Servers Properties there is a tab called Rule Change
Polling. The default is 5min. I would like to change this to 1min. Will I
see any horrid affect from doing this?
The reason I would like to do this because when you put a MOM agent in
maintenance mode, rule responses may not immediately stop running on the
Management Server. There may be a delay of up to 5 minutes before responses
stop running for that agent. The length of the delay depends on the rule
change poll interval. See KB895142 for more info.
Thanks

Hi,
This settings could generate a performance issue at SQL as also on the
Management Servers. We have ~900 servers with 3 Mgmt Servers and one SQL
Cluster and we changed it to 60 minutes.
Cheers,

Hi,
You should not reduce this value. If you do so, you could have performance
issues with OnePoint Database.
The best way to deal with Maintenance Mode is to Schedule it at the right
time; If your rule change pool interval is 5 minutes, schedule maintenance
mode 5 minutes before stopping services.
