Hi

I have some weird situation that really confuses me, so I could use some help.

I have one MOM server that is monitoring about 10 servers and everything
was working fine.

Few days ago I installed an agent on another server (ServerA), and, as
expected, I got the message ‘Product: Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Agent
-- Installation operation completed successfully.’ Agent starts
successfully, ServerA belongs to ‘Agent managed computers’ and it is heart
beating.

The problem is that ServerA doesn’t appear in the state view in MOM operator
console! It also doesn’t appear in ‘Performance view’ but it does appear in
‘Diagrams’ and ‘Computers and Groups’.

I tried to uninstall/install agent but with the same results.

All servers are Win 2003 SP1, configured in the same way, MOM is MOM 2005 SP1.

Has anyone else faced such a problem? Any suggestions how to resolve it are
welcome?

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your posting!

Please check that Managed Computer is included in the Computer Group and
Rule Group

If you have any questions, please feel to let me know. I am glad to be of
assistance.

A few things I would try:

1) Reboot the server that just had the agent installed.

2) Make sure the scope in the ops console is set to MOM Administrator Scope.

If after you do both of these things you still don't see the server in the
ops console, then you might want to turn up agent logging and go through the
MC8 logs looking for issues. Or you could just copy cleanupmom.exe from the
RC to that agent server and run it with the right switches. Then reinstall
the agent.
