We are experiencing the one-way audio (as well as the no-way audio)
issue where some users cannot receive audio from others on different
parts of our corporate network. We are not using NAT between the
networks and we are not blocking ports but some networks can never get
audio from other networks. We are running out of ideas...does anyone
have any tests we can use to confirm port blocking/nat is not the
problem?

MS support for LCS2005 is pretty limited at the moment which is poor
for such a key new product. I particularly don't like the fact that we
are directed to old support documents from Windows messenger...this is
not what you expect from a corporate product like LCS.

Phil - Believe it or not, most of the voice and video components for MOC and
Windows Messenger are built upon the features in Netmeeting. So, some of
those old documents are very much valid, even for the new client. The main
problem that I find, even on a segmented LAN, are that packets get dropped,
or never delivered. NAT has already been ruled out, as you noted. Can you
check to make sure that your firewalls/routers between the networks are
allowing UDP traffic to pass on the high ports?

You are going to hate this suggestion, but you may want to get your IT
Security group to OK running Ethereal or Netmon captures (the PSS folks may
be willing to walk you through this if you have an open SRX case, or can
reopen your case). Synch the time on the two client systems so they are
within a second or two. Filter the traffic between the systems and see what
is sent and does not arrive. Test the application sharing and whiteboard as
well.

If need be, you can lock down the ports that are utilized for voice, video,
etc.

Regarding support, they have some good people there...you just have to get
through the first level folks to get to the 2nd level. There are some
really good PSS support folks familiar with LCS, WM, and MOC. Granted,
somehow I failed my Microsoft PSS interview in the end of September.
