A few servers (MOM clients) are shutdown every night.
I would like MOM to ignore them during that specific time, but still receive
alerts if a client doens't ping during the day. How can I do that ?

Another wierd thing :
The servers get shutdown between 20:45PM and 7AM, but I only get these
alerts :
20:46PM = Change in the heartbeat state. Don't know which server(s).
4:05AM = Computer Discovery Engine failed alert for each server.
No alert telling me which servers has a 'no ping' at what time??? Maybe the
alert automatically was cleared when the server came back?

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your posting!

You can configure the Schedule of the Event Rule that generate the alert.
Specified the "Process data except during the specified time"

If you have any questions, please feel to let me know. I am glad to be of
assistance.

You can created a timed provider rule to run mominfo.exe
/maintenancemode:43200 to put the servers into maintenance mode for 12 hours.
This way it will automatically resolve all alerts raised for those servers,
regardless of the alert source. However sometimes you may still get notified
even though the alert is auto-resolved. This ia a bug in MOM, SP1 seems to
alleviate but not totally fix it.

Let me know if you need more info about how to set up this rule, I can talk
you through it. MOMinfo.exe is in the MOM Resource Kit, you will need to put
a copy on each server you want to run it against.
