Migrate print server from 2000 to 2003 cluster |
|
|
Has anyone ever migrated a non-clustered Win 2000 print server to a Win 2003
clustered print server? I found a KB on migrating from NT 4 to a Win 2000
cluster, but nothing else. It recommneded using the Clustool.exe for the
migration. I tried that on my migration and I get a "Cannot create resource!
The specified port is unknown" in the log on each printer it attempts to
migrate. I'm guessing there may be some incompatibilities between Win 2000
and 2003. I just wanted to see if anyone has done it, or if Microsoft even
supports it.

Isaac-
The Windows Print Server Migration Kit on microsoft.com should be a good
starter. It will assist with backing up and restoring all the printers on
the new server.
