SP1 - Corrupt Sys Event Log and half duplex |
|
|
There seems to be an issue with a half duplex network connection ( MS
recommended for the heartbeat) and Windows 2003 SP1
The system event log is corrupted on reboot.
Apparently changing the network connection to full duplex 100Mbs fixes - do
Ms recommend this now?
If not what is the work around ..or is there a HF available ? |

Your network drivers may not be supported by SP1. Check the vendor's website
for an updated/supported version.

Hi,
1) I have the same problem. After installing win2k3 sp1, the system log i
corrupted.
Is there any fixes for this? (The system 'seems' to be running, move groups
node a->b ok, virtual servers ok!)
2) Also NIC goes 10 MBit half. Changed to 100 MBit half - fixes this.

Been there, done that! Sucks doesn't. I have no idea why this happens, cause
it does not happen most of the time!
1) set the event service to disabled.
2) reboot
3) delete the corrupt event log file
4) set the event service to automatic
5) start the event service
Repeat for all nodes!
Cheers,
Rod
