Installing SharePoint Services and making it work... |
|
|
Where can a person find simple straight forward HowTo instructions on
installing SharePoint.
I have a 2003 Server Standard Edtion.
I've installed it and I get the Microsoft SharePoint Administrator & Central
SharePoint Administrator, but how do I configure the darn thing so I can go
to the website.
The installation said "Wait while your SharePoint site is created...". When
it's done, nothing exist. No "Companyweb, no "HTPS://<Servername or IP>",
nothing. Please someone help. It would be greatly appreciated...
By the way, I've download the SharePointeAdminGuide, when I open it, All I
get is Page cannot be displayed...

after installing Sharepoint and ALL updates,
Goto IIS 6.0 and create a test site with http header "testsite.domain.local"
In the root folder of the test site use notepad to create a default.html
documnet with "test site" in it
goto DNS and Allies testsite.domain.local to the IIS server
Test in Iexplorer that IIS is setup to answer the site
after you verify IIS is configured correctly for testsite...., GOTO
sharepoint admin and extend testsite, afterit is done. you should be able to
goto testsite.domain.local and the first page is site template setup, ....
