Re: Live Communications 2005 and Cisco Call Manager |

Tom,
A frequently asked question.
The key thing to bear in mind with LCS and CallManager integration is
that CallManager does not currently support CSTA,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CSTA.
You therefore need a gateway to interface between LCS/Communicator and
CallManager. There are two products on the market. GETS from Genesys
Labs, press release at
http://www.genesyslab.com/about/news_events/archives/2005/february/ge...
and Siemens OpenScape TCL, www.openscape.com. OpenScape is an entire
unified messaging and e-collaboration platform which is well worth a
look, but they sell the gateway separately.
I believe Cisco will be supporting CSTA in future release due for next
year.
Hope this helps,
Russ Kirk

am trying to control my Cisco IP phone through Communicator 2005 and tryingto
make PC to phone calls through Communicator 2005. I can successful make
pc-to-pc calls with Communicator 2005, no other type of calls. |
