DFS OK FOR databases? |
|
|
Database files are not handled by offline file sychronization. Does DFS
have this same problem?

If I remember correctly, databases are also excluded from replication. As
are PST files.

I assume you are talking about using File Replication Service to replicate a
database? If so, keep in mind two things:
FRS will replicate a file only after it is closed. Databases are typically
held open by an application and thus are never closed or replicated.
FRS replicates the entire file after it is closed.
Therefore FRS is usually not recommended for replicating databases. Also,
there are no specific filters that exclude databases.

That's nice to know - I'd stumbled across a website that said that .mdb
files were part of the default filter!
Thanks Jill!
