Agent connection refused |
|
|
Hi.
I have an interesting problem which has be completely stuck. I hope you can
offer some advice!
I have a MOM 2005 server which resides on a server conncted to the WWW via a
firewall. I have TCP/UDP 1270 opened and pointed at the apporpriate machine.
I have lifted the restrictions for requiring mutual authentication and
legacy agents.
I ahve another server which is running the MOM 2005 agent which has been
manuall installed. It is also connected to the WWW via a firewall with the
same ports opened and pointed. I have pointed this to the MOM server but it
fails to connect. On the Agent server I get the error "The agent is
configured to require Mutal Authentication, but the MOM Server host
<MOM.CompanyName.Com> is not in a trusted domain...". However, the agent is
not configured to require Mutal Authentication.
On the MOM Server I get the error "Agent Connection Refused - the MOM server
is configured to refuse MOM 2000 or earlier agents". This is not the case, I
have cleared the Checkboxes "Mutual Authentication Required" and "Block MOM
2000 and MOM 2000sp1 agents".
Can anyone shed any light on this or suggest some troubleshooting
techniques?
Thanks in advance

Have you restarted the MOM service to commit the mutual authentication
change?

Good Grief.. that simple... I had used the "commit configuration change"
option in the MOM Admin several times, but not restarted the service...
Thanks for this, all working nicely!

Yeah MS really needs to either A) Not require the service restart or
B) Have a popup saying now restart the service.
Glad it worked out for you.
