Hello,

We have a Windows 2000 Server with a bunch of Win98 workstations. Now we
installed a Win XP Pro workstation and after some (1 hr?) time the file
sharing gets unbearably slow. We check DNS and that seems to test ok. The
Win98 stations work fine.

What else are things to look for? We have 5 more to connect once we know
whats up.

Thanks,
Matt

Do you have a DNS server set up for the AD domain? If so does the XP client
point to this server ONLY for DNS?

Win 98 clients can be pointed to the wrong DNS server on an AD domain
without experiencing the problems a Win 2k or XP client will have being
pointed to the same DNS server.

Do you have a DNS server set up for the domain? NOT your ISP's DNS server.
