HI all, i do run SMB on an ADSL line 128/768. the SBS is the root DC as
recommended, users are acessing the exchange server via terminalservices on
an additional server. whenever a message contains an attachment > 30 kb the
msg. keeps to remain in the queue and is never sent due to timeouts.
The pop3 grabber works fine, pick all the messages from the mailserver and
routes the messages to the associated member.

As a workaround i configured the outlook clients to send the messages
directly via SMTP from the terminalserver and to proof the the remote SMTP is
working on the same infrastructure.

any help or hint is appreciated !

Hi Klaus,

Are you sending with DNS or Smarthost? Can you post the ipconfig/all from
the server?

Hi Klaus,

Ipconfig looks good to me. Does it happen to all email with attachments?
Which router do you have? Have you checked for firmware upgrade?

hi marina,

it does not occur with all sent messages containig an attachment but it
always did on attachments with more than 50 kb. the server is trying, sends
out data but then the status of the queue turns to "remote host not
responding"

i am using a phion netfence firewall running the latest software version but
i also tried to run another router getting the same results.

Hi Klaus,

This might be a shot in the dark, but changing MTU settings on that router?
