Sharepoint Survey Question |
|
|
Hi all,
I've never looked at Sharepoint 2003 before today. Today I was
requested, by management, to set up a extranet Sharepoint-hosted
survey.
The Sharepoint site will be used to gather input at a nationwide
gathering of upper-management. Each manager will, in turn, fill out
the survey. Once the survey is completed they want the Sharepoint site
to display the survey results. At first look this didn't appear to be
a big deal (as Sharepoint has a survey capture component); however,
there are a couple of requirement snags:
1) The survey must include some images (one per question)
2) The site will be logged into |one time| and the respondents will
simply identify themselves to the survey (no one is logging out and
back in).
My plan is to provide a custom survey (via web parts on a web part
page). Is there a way (API, etc) to submit the results of a survey
respondent back into the Sharepoint database so that I can make use of
the out-of-the-box survey reporting?
I could really use so insight on creating a custom survey and getting
the data back into the Sharepoint database. The drop-dead date is
eight days aways and the clock is ticking!!!
TIA

Eight days? Pretty tall order for a software product you've never used
(especially with the customizations). First thing you should do is re-post
this to the correct newsgroup since this group is for Sharepoint Team
Services version 1, which doesn't support web parts. If by Sharepoint 2003
you are referring to Windows Sharepoint Services, post to
microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices and someone there can hopefully
help you. Good Luck
