cOne Site collection started acting weird when creating sites.
Everything works fine in another site collection.

When I select a template, It takes lot of time to apply it and challenges
for authentication (guess, its timed out). After entering once, It says
'template already applied'. When I go to home page of new site, the top
navigation bar misses (randomly) some links. Seems like the site templates
for this Site coll. are messed up. Only custom templates in Site T Gallery
were Coras Works Project Templates.
what could be wrong. Nothing is found in event viewer. This site collection
worked fine until recently and nothing new was done to this ASAIK.
How do I debug this issue? Please provide some pointers..

More Info:
That site collection is about 600 MB with total of around 25 sites.
Found out that it is applying the template so slow that each link in top
navigation bar is showing up after every min.
10 mins after I create the site, i now have the complete site with template
applied completely.
What could it be that is causing this issue?

This issue is gone.. Dangerously enough, do not know what caused the problem,
and what solved it.
Could it be any Database issues. could not find any errors in event log.
Pls. provide some pointers...
