Problem restoring mysites |
|
|
We are doing some backup and restore testing and have come across a problem
when trying to restore a mysite to test that we can get back an individual
uploaded file that has been deleted by a user.
We backup the mysite using the stsadm tool. We then use the same tool to
create a new site and a new content database that we can restore the mysite
into. Then we use stsadm to restore the mysite into the new site area.
Everything seems to go well, but when we navigate to the new restored area
it seems to automatically redirect us back to the original mysite area, and
does not dsiplay the restored area. When we try this using any other type of
site we don't get this problem, we just get a copy of the backedup site in
the new area that is not connected to the original site. |

My Sites are only in SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
They are not in any other implementation of WSS such as standard WSS; WSS in
SBS 2003 and WSS in Project Server 2003.
So please post questions on My Sites to the SPS newsgroup at
microsoft.public.sharepoint.portalserver
Thanks.
