new installation help |
|
|
Have installed sbs 2003 but installation appears to have not gone in cleanly.
Fax service not working, connection manager not present.
Server has clients connnected , printers working e mail and web working.
Is there a simple way like in sbs 4.5 of re installing applications from the
set up CD's without causing damage to the items that are working? |

Re: new installation help |

I have traced part of the fault to a line issue with the telephone system.
Fax works from the server ok using the fax console on the server. Work
stations are Xp with norton 2005. On teh work stations the fax is seen and is
on line and the fax console is as it should be.
When you try to send you get a windows error report. When you send from teh
fax console you get a norton error that it is treating c:\windows
\system32\fxsclnt.exe as a netspy trojan horse and is blocking this aspect.
Disabling this option then creates a windows error on fxsend.exe.
Is there an easy fix to this as it appears that 2005 norton is being too
clever.?
