"related documents" with sharepoint/wss |

Hello @all,
is it possible with Sharepoint or WSS to have "related Documents" to a
document, that means a list with documents who have similar content and
are already uploaded to the system.
This list should be manually editable.
Has the Sharepoint or WSS such a feature? Searching the internet and
testing the free-online demo doesn't helped much..

There is no such feature built into SPS 2003. However you could mimic it a
bit. Add a metadata field called related documents and set that field to
"Display this property in item details in search results". Then when a user
searches on the document and clicks on the "Item details" link they can see
it.
BTW, to set this field go under "Site Settings" and select "Manage
properties from crawled documents". Find the metadata field in question
(usually under urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office) and select it.

I am not sure whether topic assintant web part can help achieve some
objectives "related document". Pls investigate this web part to see it is
usefull to u.
