Hi,

Does anyone now howto "repair" the Office IFilters or howto check their
functionality in the SharePoint Portal?
All metadata and sites of my wss-sites (listed in sites directory of the
portal) are indexed but the CONTENT of the files NOT ...

I already tried registering the offfilt.dll.
The gathererlogs show nothing special ...

What is happening ?

Best regards,

Jeroen db

Hi Jeroen,

You can check with the IFilter Explorer (http://www.citeknet.com) which
IFilters are configured for SPS or WSS.
But if you already tried to register the dlls again, I don't think this
is the cause of the problem, unless there's a serious prb in the
registry.

I don't know if the problem you have is related to this, but I came
accross some strange behavior sometimes when you are trying to do a
search as a SPS administrator and you are not an added member of
sites/areas where SPS find a matching result. As a SPS administrator
you have physical access to everything but the search doesn't always
see it the same way. Anyway, what I mean is the indexing might be
perfectly fine, but the search results might be incorrect.

Ben.
