Greetings All,
I am about to perform a domain migration from SBS 4.5 to AD/2003(not SBS)
There is no Exchange to worry about... and I have a temp server and a new
server to use.

Do my planned steps or process appear to be sound?

1. Install a Temp server as NT4 BDC.
2. Disconnect the SBS 4.5 from the network
3. Promote the Temp server to PDC
4. Do an in place upgrade of the Temp server to 2003 & AD
5. Install the brand New 2003 server as member server
6. Do a dcpromo of new 2003 server to a DC
7. Transfer the FSMO roles to the New server
8. Do a Dcpromo down on the Temp server to remove from AD

I am feeling lucky :-)
Thanks for any encouraging words or funny remarks wondering about what the
heck I am thinking...

My first question is why regular server and not SBS 2003?

I was nothing against SBS at all... SBS 2003 is a heck of a deal!
It was a logistics decision based on 2-3 year business needs; mostly rapid
company growth that is now occuring

Does it look like I have the steps down?
Warning; Old Fart Netware guy here :-)

The steps are perfect...just didn't see where you plan to move your data
before you disconnect the SBS server.
