I am feeling a little dense here...

I have moved content in Manage Portal to a new area, but the content still
shows on the main page. Specifically the default sharepoint content. Is
there some kind of caching that needs to expire or some way to "publish"
these changes?

I've got it now... the content paradigm is quite different than many other
systems and took me a minute...
