Hello!

When saving documents in a Document Library in an Area there is no problem
accessing it using Windows Explorer. \\servername\c1 ... and so on.

How do i do the same thing using a document library in a site under the
portal?

You can do this via My network places.
Choose My network places in explorer --> Add network place --> Give URL to
document library like http://server/sites/sitename/document library name.

On my server at the office there is not problem accessing data using the
UNC-path (\\server\sites\site1\library1 for example) but at my customers
server it cant be done.

When i fire up the Run box and type in the UNC-path i get this error
message:

"The network path was not found"

I can ping the server, i can connect to regular shares. I have tried both
from Win XP and from Windows 2000. The explorer view of the document library
works just fine. It's connecting using the UNC-path that fails with the
error message above.
