How to create "Team" Outlook Integration in WSS |
|
|
We have a client who wants to be able to have the ability to send and receive
"team" emails in WSS and reply. The idea is replace a team distribution list
and make key email traffic visible in a collaborative sense. I would guess
that a link to an Exchange Server would be logical. We remembered seeing a
web part like this on MSD2D but it appears that CorasWorks bought the company
and is selling the web part for $3000 per server.
Is there another, less expensive solution available or that can be assembled
??
Thanks,
Scott |

For each WSS Sites, why don't you create a group (mail enabled group
account). So when users reply or get notifications, etc it replies to the
group they are in.
Example
- Setup the mail enabled group account
- Get everyone you want in that group
- When people get notified for whatever reason in that WSS site, they can
also reply - poor man's method

Thanks for the suggestion but we are hoping that someone has developed or is
developing - for sale, but not $3,000 - an elegant solution for Outlook. It
seems a natural requirement in a "Team Collaboration" site to have team based
email "visible". You know like TO: The Project Team, and FROM: the Project
Team.
We have discovered an interesting Outlook Vie Control from wssdemo.com
http://www.wssdemo.com/Pages/OutlookDemo.aspx?menu=Demo's
