Packaging Sites from Command Line |
|
|
I am trying to create a script that will run on nightly basis and package a
commerce server site. I've read
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/comsrv2k/htm/cs_rsc_pup_gcss.asp
and followed all the steps. Once I run the script (for example: PuP.exe /p
/s:BlankSite /f:D:\Program Files\Microsoft Commerce Server\PuP
Packages\XBlank.pup /i:D:\Program Files\Microsoft Commerce
Server\SiteCreate\packBlank.ini) I get a dialog box asking me for the
"Profiling System" scripts. Whenever I manually package the stie I leave
these as blank and proceed. How do I do this from command line. My goal is to
run this job without any prompting.
Thanks,

There is an ini file where you need to provide the data required for this
resource. Try digging the documentation as I don't remeber it of the top of
my head.

The documentation says:
"When run from the command line, Site Packager will still display the
Profiling System dialog box."
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/csvr2002/htm/cs_rsc_pup_gcss.asp
I wonder if there is a way to bypass this since I would like to run this on
daily basis as another step of our backup process.
Help!
Thanks,
Z

Hi,
It is possible to do so using the bizdata.ini file. This is from the FP1
Help file where this got documented (was not till then):
"When run from the command line, Site Packager will display the Profiling
System dialog box if the schema and data files for each of the profile data
stores are not specified in the bizdata.ini file. The bizdata.ini file must
be present in the current directory of the packaging process or in the root
directory. "
