LCS Enterprise 2005 - Activation Error 0xC3EC7826 - AD Repli |
|
|
Hello,
I have been trying to install the LCS Enterprise 2005 on our customer's
server. Basically, we have two Windows 2003 Domain Controllers here
(ADServer1 & ADServer2) which are located at different sites and replicate
from each other. ADSERVER1 is the main DC (forest, schema master, PDC,...)
and ADSERVER2 replicates from it. I am trying to install LCS-EE on ADSERVER2
which has SQL Server2000SP3a installed.
All the prep states are done, and have checked and redone it multiple times
via the command prompt. The pool is also created, but when I try to activate
the LCS on ADSERVER2, it fails with error 0xC3EC7826. It is asking me to
make sure ForestPrep is completed and use DomainAdd task to gran access to
Global Settings Container.
As far as I understood from the available documentation, 'DomainAdd' is to
add a child domain (or a separate domain with LCS) to another domain. But
here we only have one domain MAINDC.LOCAL and there is no child domain. In
addition when I try to use the DomainAdd command, it fails because there is
no other domain available.
So basically, everything seems to be working except Activation. I also
attached the HTML Log of the failure below:
Thank you for your help.

Can you make sure there are no replication errors/delays between the two
DCs?
Can you also run the following to verify if domain prep was successful?
lcscmd /domain /action:CheckDomainPrepState

I too am running into this problem. All the prep steps
indicate successful completion, but then the final
activation step indicates:

If you are activating in a child domain, you need to do DomainAdd and also
you need to add your child domain administrator (the account which you use
to activate) to the RtcDomainServerAdmins group (you would need to log off
and log on to refresh your security context if you are connected as this
account while doing this). Can you check any of these apply to your case?
