Any specific reason for installing LCS 2003 over LCS 2005 Standard?
Any specific reason for using Windows 2003 Server Enterprise?
As for the error, if the remote registry service is stopped on the domain
controller holding the Schema Master FSMO, you will recieve this error
message.
Pages 59 (1/2) - 61 (1/2) in the LCS 2003 Deployment Guide cover prepping
the LCS schema. The guide is located here:

It also covers the enterprise and domain preps. It does not mention the
remote registry service, that I can find in a short skimming.
