I have LCS 2005 with sp1 installed and all is running fine. I also
have the admin pak installed. I installed MSMQ and now am trying the
install from the cd for the archiving agent/service. It gets halfway
through and up to WMI events when it pops up an error 1722 that it
can't continue.

Anyone know what this is and how I can resolve it?

anyone have a clue what is going on here? should I try a reinstall? I
don't want to lose any settings though.

I had this problem recently. After digging around a bit I figured out it was actually something rather silly.

I installed LCS, then applied SP1. I later went back to install the archiving portion from the non-SP1 media and kept getting the 1722 error.

You need to run setup from the SP1 files, not the LCS media. It worked for me.
