Is it possible to video conference with 3 or more people? I thought so after
watching the online demo, but after installing the trial and trying, the WM
client reports that a third party cannot join a video conversation. help?

Windows Messenger natively only supports a single peer to a single peer.

It is possible to have multi-party communications, but it requires a
third-party product. Radvision makes an excellent product that allows
Winodws Messenger users users to collaborate with voice and video in
mutli-party sessions. I am sure it does more than that, but I have only
used the voice and video pieces (with 4 people) and it worked fine.

Alternatives are Netmeeting and Conference XP
(http://www.conferencexp.net/). Note that Conference XP is not an
"official" product.

the two other vendors with LCS/WM integration are
IntraTel and First Virtual Communications (FVC).
