Hi,

recently , our ADSL line went down, because our ISP providers servers went
down.

I was looking at the possibility of configuring a ISDN/Dial up entry in ISA
Server(we have it as part of SBS 2000) that we could switch to if this
happens again.

Have looked on the Microsoft web site and it seems to be as follows , as I
am very rusty on ISA Server. I would very much appreciate any further info or
advice

1. Create a new Dial up entry from Policy Elements/Dial up Entries

web link :
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/isa/2000/enterprise/proddocs/en-us/isadocs/cmt_dialup.mspx

2. Set it as an active dial up entry

web link :
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/isa/2000/enterprise/proddocs/en-us/isadocs/cmt_dialup.mspx

3. Tick "Use Dial up Dial up Entry" via Network configuration/Properties.

web link : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;283635

I assume when the ADSL line comes back, I can just untick "Use Dial up
Entry" and it will pick up from the ADSL router as before.

Any further tips / info would be much appreciated

been a while since I did this as well
But if I recall correctly, you basically create a new DUN for the
connection to the isp

Then run the ICW and it will take care of but Exchange and Internet
connectivity

This is the article that describes it in detail

How to Configure SBS for Internet Access by Using Modem or Dial-up
Connection
