I have a very small network, two physical location connected by hardware VPN thru DSL. Existing Windows 200 server running in each loacation (two different Domains). One location is also runniong exchange.

We have purchased a new serer to be the primary for both locations. I have built up the machine with a new domain.local and installed exchange 2003. Can I plug the new server into the existing network, demote the existing servers and the go to each machine and connect them to the new domain.local ? Then transfer the mailboxes to the new exchange server ?

Looking for the best way to do this, we would like to leave the two existing servers as file print servers, one is running a few applications. Only 32 machines connecting in total and I plan to touch each one to connect to new domain.local.

Any help would be great.
