We migrated users and groups from Windows NT 4.0 domain to Windows 2003
native domain using ADMT v2. We used SID histroy during the users and groups
migration. We tested with some user account by logging in to the target
domain and we can access the resources located in the source domain. We have
problem with migrating user local profile located on the user workstation. We
ran Computer migration wizard in the ADMT tool to migrate few workstations
and we selected all the options under translations (inlcuding user profiles)
and selected "Add" option and ran the computer migration. It migrated few
workstations to the target domain and. It recreates the new profile when the
user logon from the migrated workstation to the target domain. It doesn't use
the existing the profile in the source domain. We logged in as local admin to
that workstation and we checked the user profiles under My computer
properties. It renames sourcedomain\username to targetdomain\username. When
you login, it recreates the new profile. The users were loosing the existing
profiles. Are we doing anything wrong in this procedure? Do you have any good
documentation about ADMT tool?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Karthi,

I have noticed you submitted another thread with the same questions. Let us
discuss in that thread.

Thanks!
