RE: 2000 to 2003 Migration |

Hi Mickey,
Thanks for your posting.
If these two Windows 2003 DCs are for the same domain, we don¡¯t need to
use ADMT. We need to upgrade Windows 2003 schemas with ADPrep.exe tool,
prompt the two Windows 2003 servers to domain controllers and then transfer
the domain and forest FSMO roles to the Windows 2003 domain controllers.
Then we can demote the Windows 2000 domain controllers.
If these two Windows 2003 DCs are for the different domain, we need to use
ADMT to migration all the accounts and resource in the Windows 2000 domain
to the Windows 2003 domain.
Sincerely,
Carsyn Gu

| Do I need to use ADMT in a 2000 to 2003 migration? I have
| 2 DC's running W2k and I will replace them with 2 new
