User created in Active Directory but not shown up in Exchang |
|
|
I created one user in active directory under Exchange server, but when I
open my outlook, I can't find that user. Normally, it will take a really
long time for new created user to be shown up in Outlook and it happens
every time when I create new user, what's the reason?
Active Directory: Using Windows Server 2003 Standard
Exchange: Exchange 2003 Enterprise Edition
Both servers are separated from each other.
Thanks. |

Are you running in Exchange mixed mode with an Active Directory Connector?
Is so check the connector (ADC) for the replication schedule.

Thank you for your advise.
My Exchange is running mixed mode currently but how do I verify I have
Active Directory Connector?
And where can I change the replication schedule?
Thanks a million.

This is usually one of two things.
1. The RUS is processing slowly or not at all. RUS stands for recipient update
service, it is responsible for stamping objects so that they become mail or
mailbox enabled. You can easily check this by looking at the AD object and
checking to see if it has been stamped with proxyAddresses and mailbox Guid and
other attributes. If it hasn't, the RUS hasn't gotten to it, if it has the RUS
did get to it and it is something else.
2. People using Outlook 2003 with cached mode often have a cached GAL. Disable
caching and see if you see it sooner.
