hi,

I have built a Exchange 2003 cluster Active/Passive cluster. And eveything
works fine for few days with the Exchnage Virtual Server (EVS) failing over
from one server to the other when tested.

But after few days the Exchange Virtual Server does not failover. When I try
to maually move the EVS Group from the Active node to the Passive node all
the resources will move but the SMTP Virtual Server Instance 1 fails to move
and hence the EVS moves back to my orginal Active Node.

I noticed the following error logs on Applicaiton Event logs.

Event ID: 1024
SMTP Virtual Server Instance 1 (EXCH-SRV1): The IsAlive check for this
resource failed.
For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp

And, Event ID: 8213
System Attendant Service failed to create session for virtual machine
EXCH-SRV1. The error number is 0x80044501.
For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

Any help shall be greatly appreciated.

hi,

Am sorry the 1st Event ID no. is 1005.
And EXCH-SRV1 is my EVS name.
