Issue with NLB Manager - Cluster IP Address |
|
|
Hi,
I've gone through couple of articles on conguring the NLB cluster using NLB
Manager.Below are my queries:
1. In NLB Manager, Cluster Parameter tab, - Can I give any IP address for
Cluster IP address. If No, from where/how do I obtained this IP?
2. After configuring the Cluster IP address, can I expect Reply if I ping to
this IP address? (I'm not getting reply)
3. In NLB Manager, Cluster IP Addresses tab - what is "Additional Cluster IP
Addresses"? Is it for hosting multiple sites? Is it necessory to have entry
in this?
Please help me to understand this.
Thanks in advance

hi pankaj!
1. it need to be part of the ip-network-range you have configured on your
network adapters on the nlb cluster nodes.
2. cluster ip. look to your port rules. have you added any port rules? do
you try to ping from a node in your nlb cluster or from a pc outside?
3. you can add more ip-addresses to the cluster but you do not need to add
them.

Hi gerald!
Thanks a lot for your help. Below are few more queries...
1. How do I know the "ip-network-range" configured on my network adapter?
I'm accessing the Cluster Server using Remote Desktop.
2. I've added port rule to listen to port 80 as I want to cluster IIS, which
listens to http port 80. I'm pinging to virtual IP from the PC in the network
(LAN) which is client system and is not a part of hosts in the cluster.
can you clarify please.
Thanks in advance
