Drive letter in cluster |
|
|
Hi,
I have some clustered server in windows 2000 that keep the drive letter
after a move. If the W: clustered drive move from node a to node b, node a
will keep the W: as if it was still there. When we try to access it it say
"Ressource in use". Even if I log on the console. What can i do to solve that
?
Thanks.

I take it you are seeing that in Windows Explorer from the actual node? If
so, just don't click on it. Close Explorer and restart it. I have seen some
hardware show the ghosts, nothing to worry about.
Cheers,

It's not a ghost, i think, because I see it in DOS too.
I can't map a drive to that letter too.
It's a problem to me because when i query Windows to monitor all the drive
that the server is having, i got the Cluster drive that is not there anymore.
And when i try to get the "% space use" on the Cluster drive that is not
there anymore i got an error. I can't do a "kill" of the explorer process and
start a new one each time that a ressource is moving from one server to the
other.
Thanks.

It is a ghost, cause the other node fully owns it. Are you using HBA or
SCSI? Do you have the latest firmware? Drivers? Multipath software? SCSI
termination? Any cluster log errors?

Rod
