I am having a lot of issues, when trying to cluster two identical servers.
What do I need to look for and be aware of? I am trying to create a file
share for the cluster and then once it works properly we will be clustering
an Exchange 2003 deployment. I am getting messages about can't set disk C:
E: since they are on the same physical bus. My RAID5 array is on one SCSI
controller (all that came with this system).

Please assist

Hi,

It sounds like you do not have any shared storage. Is this cluster system
on the HCL or in the Windows Server Catalog
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/server)? Can you provide specific
details as to the hardware you have? If you have a single RAID5 array that
is inside one of the computers, you won't be able to cluster them.

That is what I was getting. So basically one SCSI/RAID card will not cut it
in the server. Do you have any suggestions, other than ordering an
additional SCSI card for the servers?

You really need to have a separate SCSI bus for the shared disk
configuration that doesn't include the internal drives. So, there really
isn't an option other than changing the type of external storage that you
will be using.

Is this going to be a production server? If so, you'll want to purchase a
supported cluster system. To view a list of supported systems, see the
Cluster Solutions category of the Windows Server Catalog at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/server/default.aspx?subID=22&xslt=hardwarehome.

In addition to a SCSI RAID card, you'll want to have at least two NICs in
each system. You'll also need disks in a shared storage array for the
cluster quorum, your file shares, and Exchange.

Hope this helps.
